What to expect


All activities in our program are included and the opportunity to attend all of the yoga and meditation sessions. The schedule is designed to include classes from our daily schedule and a private group class on Saturday and Sunday to discuss personal progression on your practice. 

We specialize on Traditional Hatha and Restorative styles. We have a range of offerings that stream from a Gentle class to Progressive sessions so you can find foundation exploration and to challenge your practice. Our team of wellness experts provides workshops and education to help you achieve your health related goals. The concept of this retreat will allow you to be immersed in an environment that supports your wellbeing with continuous self-care through movement, breath, relaxation and contemplation. 

Treatments Included:

  • Sound Therapy 1:1 Session: Immerse yourself in the healing power of sound. Allow the resonant tones of singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments to envelop you, guiding you to a state of deep relaxation and harmony. Ram is a qualified Sound Healer and uses tuning forks, singing bowls and other instruments to bring harmony and balance to all levels of ones being. Supports stress reduction, anxiety and depression, and clears energy field. 

  • Personalized Massage Therapy: Experience the therapeutic touch of our skilled massage therapists. A 60-min session is included to soothe muscles, release tension, and promote overall well-being. More session are available by request. 


Free Time Exploration:

While our program is rich with transformative activities, we recognize the value of solitude and personal exploration. During your free time, we encourage you to wander and explore. Whether it's the scenic trails surrounding our retreat, the calming shores of a nearby lake, or the intricate patterns of nature right on our grounds, there's beauty and peace awaiting your discovery. Perhaps you'll find a quiet spot to meditate, read, or simply soak in the natural beauty.

Beyond exploring the surroundings, use this free time to connect. With yourself, with nature, and with fellow sojourners. Share stories, exchange insights, or simply enjoy the collective energy of like-minded individuals.

Workshops, Sharing Circles and Rituals:

During the Sacred Space Sojourn Retreat, our sharing circles, nature rituals, and fire ceremonies are integral practices designed to foster connection, reflection, and healing.

  • The purpose is to create a safe and supportive space where participants can share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. We will have themes and journaling prompts for open sharing and discussions in a respectful atmosphere encouraging honesty and vulnerability. 

  • Nature rituals are designed to connect participants more deeply with the natural world, enhancing their sense of peace and grounding. We use elements in nature to engage in mindful observation and to represent and symbolize different aspects of our life. 

  • The fire ceremony is a powerful ritual for transformation, letting go, and setting intention.

  • Emotional awareness and harnessing the power of our body are sessions designed to provide insights and tools for understanding and managing emotions,  levels of consciousness, and feel re-centred and re-connected.

These elements work together to create a transformative experience, helping participants connect with themselves, each other, and the natural world.


Walking trails:

Sanctuary Hill is surrounded by the lush greenery of the Taranaki region. During this Retreat you can walk around the property to enjoy the views of Mt. Taranaki, listen to the birds of the region, walk through the orchard and visit the different areas around our property. If you are feeling more invited to rest back and enjoy the view, you can relax in our various outdoor areas to bask in nature. 

Nourishing Culinary Delights:

Begin each day with a self-serve breakfast, offering a range of nutritious options to kickstart your morning. For lunch, relish a spread of healthy, fresh dishes crafted with locally-sourced ingredients. As the day winds down, gather for a home-cooked dinner, serving comfort on a plate in a communal setting.

Flexible Accommodation Options:


Catering to your comfort and privacy needs, choose from private accommodations, where you can relish personal space and introspection, or shared options, where you can connect with fellow attendees and foster new friendships.

We provide shared accommodation, with two or three guest per room. The maximum number for our groups are 12 guests.

Our modern luxury bedrooms are equipped with 100% cotton linen ant towels. 

We invite our guests to unwind: take a walk, explore the property, read a book from our library, journal, connect with nature and wildlife, and relax in the hot tub.

Private Bedroom: $1,200 each (this is for single travelers occupancy room)

About New Plymouth


Sanctuary Hill is located only 15 minute drive from the New Plymouth Airport. We are happy to organize a shuttle service with an independent specialized company which normally charges NZ$35 dlls one-way.  

New Plymouth is the major city of the Taranaki Region on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

Notable features are the botanic gardens (i.e. Pukekura Park), the critically acclaimed Len Lye Centre and Art Gallery, the 11 km (6.8 mi) Coastal Walkway alongside the Tasman Sea, the Len Lye-designed artwork known as the Wind Wand, Paritutu Rock, and views of Mount Taranaki/Egmont. New Plymouth Airport has daily services from Air New Zealand and Jetstar airlines.
