"My husband and I took our first trip to New Zealand from New York. He planned the whole trip and wanted to surprise me with a healthy yoga weekend retreat- and found Sanctuary Hill. I have been to many yoga retreats around the States and follow a high Raw Vegan diet. I am usually disappointed in the quality of food on most retreats, so I always carry my own supplies. I did write that I ate Raw, but didn't expect much. I was overwhelmed by the quality of the weekend! The beautiful location - house and yoga studio, the hikes, workshops on food, health and nutrition, the details towards everything. Above all,I was blown away by the quality of the food- Ram is a professional in every way- the food was beyond healthy, (fermented and activated) and it looked like a painting on our plates!! The yoga was fantastic, the food mouthwatering, the sheets were crisp and white, the towels soft and the attention to detail was wonderful. I really enjoyed the bush walk too. The mediation classes were really insightful and had a wonderful joy about them. The restorative yoga with Frances was true bliss and Bhavani helped me do my first headstand (for a few seconds). I came away from this retreat feeling energized, detoxed and once again ready to practice yoga and mediation on a regular basis. Truly a great experience.
