CALM & STRENGTH  RETREAT

September 19th to 21st' 2025

This retreat is designed to help participants reconnect with their body’s innate intelligence — learning how to navigate the dance between calm and strength. Drawing on the wisdom of the nervous system, yoga, and embodied practices, participants will learn how to shift between states of rest and activation with awareness, care, and agency.

This retreat is guided by Bhavani Davies, founder of The Soothe Method, with over 15 years of experience in yoga therapy, somatics, and facilitating healing retreats. Through her grounded and compassionate approach, Bhavani offers support in understanding the language of the nervous system — helping participants to tune in, track their internal states, and respond with care rather than reactivity.

Drawing from her extensive training and embodied wisdom, Bhavani bridges ancient yogic teachings with modern somatic practices to support nervous system regulation. She holds space for deep transformation — not by pushing or fixing, but by listening, softening, and empowering each person to rediscover their own rhythm of calm and strength.

I attended the Ayurveda - yoga and meditation retreat which I loved. It was great to meet like-minded people and relax in the beautiful setting of Sanctuary Hill. I found the yoga classes by Bhavani to be lovely and she explained the movements well. The meditations were great too & Ram's meals were very wholesome and nurturing.

My husband and I took our first trip to New Zealand from New York. I have been to many yoga retreats around the States and follow a high Raw Vegan diet. I am usually disappointed in the quality of food on most retreats, so I always carry my own supplies.  I was overwhelmed by the quality of the weekend! The beautiful location - house and yoga studio, the hikes, workshops on food, health and nutrition, the details towards everything. Above all,I was blown away by the quality of the food- Ram is a professional in every way. The quality was comparable to an upscale Vegan restaurant in NYC. Ram and Bhavani were excellent hosts. I would highly recommend Sanctuary Hill to anyone that wants lovely yoga and meditation classes, fun hikes, educational lectures and excellent food to "live" for.
