Premium Accommodation:
You’ll stay in a boutique vacation villa just for us! With beautiful rooms and stunning ocean views, your perfect home base for this retreat. The villa includes a heated outdoor infinity pool, complete with splash decks, umbrella shading and loungers for ultimate relaxation and fun. The villa is located inside an exclusive gated community.
Wellness & Yoga:
Each morning begins with the gentle sound of the ocean and a nourishing yoga and meditation practice guided by Bhavani and Ram. Surrounded by the tropical beauty of Puerto Vallarta, we’ll move, breathe, and ground together, welcoming the day with intention and ease.
Food & Nourishment:
One of the sweetest parts of the retreat is gathering around the table. We’ll be nourished each day with beautiful, freshly prepared meals crafted by our private chef in the comfort of our stunning villa. Each dish is made with vibrant local ingredients — tropical fruits, fresh seafood, colorful vegetables, and the warm, soulful flavors of Mexico.
Cultural & Adventure Experiences:
Puerto Vallarta is alive with tradition, color, and heart — and during this retreat, you’ll get to experience Mexico from the inside out. We’ll wander through vibrant local markets, savor authentic flavors, and connect with the warmth of its people and their ancestral heritage.
Throughout the week, we’ll explore the city’s cobblestone streets and art-filled Malecón boardwalk, visit local artisans, and discover hidden gems that most travelers never see. A lively salsa class will bring movement and joy into the evenings, group excursions — like visiting nearby villages or taking a sunset boat trip — offer a taste of the natural and cultural magic of this region.

- Day trip to Sayulita or San Pancho in Nayarit Riviera, colorful surf towns with vibrant local culture.

Morning – Beach Yoga & Meditation
Wake up to the breathtaking view of the ocean and start your day with guided yoga and meditation on the villa with Ram and Bhavani.
Breakfast – Fresh & Nourishing
After yoga, enjoy an amazing breakfast full of fresh, local ingredients, tropical fruits, and wellness-focused dishes to energize you for the day ahead.
Daytime Adventure – We’ll head out to explore the magic of Puerto Vallarta — wandering through colorful streets, visiting artisan markets, or journeying into nature. One day it might be a boat trip to hidden beaches, another a guided walk through the historic Malecón, or a refreshing swim in a jungle waterfall.
Afternoon – Rest & Personal Wellness
Return to the villa for a leisurely afternoon. Choose to book a personalized therapy or massage, or enjoy a relaxing yoga stretch while soaking up the tropical surroundings.
Evening – Dinner by Moonlight
As night falls, gather for a delicious dinner under the moonlight, fresh flavors, and the warmth of shared experiences.
WHAT TO BRING:
For your time at Roots of the Sun, bring all your tropical essentials: light, breathable clothing for yoga, beach, and adventures, along with swimwear, comfortable shoes for exploring, and sandals for relaxing by the ocean. Don’t forget sun protection like sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses, as well as mosquito repellent. Most importantly, bring your sense of adventure and an openness to let wellness, culture, and the tropical beauty fully envelop you each day.
ACCOMMODATION:
Tucked into the jungle of the quiet gated community of Sierra del Mar sits our Hacienda, a contemporary luxury home filled with high quality furnishings and natural light. The meticulous landscaping surrounding the residence provides not only abundant privacy, but also a peaceful backdrop for a sun soaked holiday.
The grounds feature a stunning infinity swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers. Take in the changing colors of the day from your balcony, your favorite drink in hand.
All bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms have breathtaking views of the ocean or terrace.
​​We will be only 20 minutes walking to town and 5 minutes walk to a private beach.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Traveling from New Zealand to Puerto Vallarta is easy and well connected. The simplest route is to fly from Auckland with Air New Zealand to Los Angeles or Houston, and then connect on a direct flight to Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). Once you land, we’ll help organize a private shuttle transfer so your journey flows with ease.

Our experience was amazing from the start. They welcomed us with great attention and details. The house is beautiful, perfect for living with family or friends. The pool is impressive in the middle of a lot of vegetation and the atmosphere is private and very comfortable to rest.
The rooms are impeccable, always clean and comfortable thanks to the work of the staff. We want to especially thank Chef Ernesto, Marco who was on top of everything, and also the cleaning lady, all super friendly.
