Winter Wellness Retreat

June 23rd to 26th ' 2023

Winter season draws us naturally to quiet and introspective practices. Take this cue of nature and make winter an opportunity to dive deep into your practice. Join our annual offering, as this has become a popular Retreat for returning guests.

In order to maintain internal balance through the shifting of the seasons, it is vital that we change with the seasons just as nature does. On this retreat you will learn how to smoothly transition through winter by adapting our daily habits, yoga practice and food choices. Ironically it is only through change that you can stay better grounded through the shifting of the seasons.

Embrace your inward journey towards mindfulness, relaxation and a blissful sense of being.

What to expect

All activities in our program are included and the opportunity to attend all of the yoga and meditation sessions. The schedule is designed to include two yoga classes a day, apart from Friday which will only include one yoga class after your arrival. Morning classes are intended to be with more movement to start that day and warm up. The evening classes are a restorative style to  prepare us for a good night sleep. We specialize on Traditional Hatha and Restorative styles.  Beginners to yoga will get an introduction to yoga postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques, while the more experienced will be guided in how to deepen their practice.

Bhavani is a well experienced teacher with more than a decade of teaching students from all walks in life. She will guide you in practical and accessible ways to understand movement, breath and attention. The gentle approach of her style stimulates our creative potential through our movement expression and spiritual connection. We feel dedicated to your personal evolution. Our team of wellness experts provides workshops and education to help you achieve your health related goals.

We will be joined by a Guest Speaker in an interactive and inspiring workshop that speaks to our health during Winter Seasons. Wintery days are a great opportunity to plan healthy meals, so we will chat about nutrient dense elements that can boost your system and satisfy your appetite. Our guest speakers and lifestyle mentors support deep inner work to facilitate lasting and real change on your mindset and perspective toward healthy living. Learn more about quality sleep, stress management, healthy eating habits and food choices to take home knowledge that sustains your well-being.

We will enjoy a Sound Healing with Ram who is a Certified and experienced Therapist on an evening session on Saturday. The crystal ‘singing’ bowl is made of quartz and the effect upon the body and consciousness of the individual is tremendous. Crystal Sound baths help to facilitate a shift in your brain waves so that a deep state of meditation and internal healing can occur. Crystal sound therapy is just one way of achieving a meditative state without having to master the practice of meditation. This experience is perfect for beginners however those more experienced can reach a theta state (deep meditation) or even a delta state (where internal healing can occur).

If you are looking for a complete Relaxation experience, you can add a Massage treatment with our specialized Therapist.

These therapies can be scheduled during your booking and paid at your arrival.

30 min Massage: $65

60 min Massage: $110

New Plymouth is the major city of the Taranaki Region on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

Notable features are the botanic gardens (i.e. Pukekura Park), the critically acclaimed Len Lye Centre and Art Gallery, the 11 km (6.8 mi) Coastal Walkway alongside the Tasman Sea, the Len Lye-designed artwork known as the Wind Wand, Paritutu Rock, and views of Mount Taranaki/Egmont. New Plymouth Airport has daily services from Air New Zealand and Jetstar airlines.

What YOGA means to us

Yoga is at the heart of our retreats, and we offer the real deal. From the physical practice, the environment where you move, the food you eat, is all part of the philosophy of an integrative way of living. The goal of the physical practice is to challenge you physically but most importantly to quiet the mind. That’s what yoga is all about – calming the mind. And that’s what we teach on our yoga retreats. You will feel re-energized and restored both physically and mentally.
