Spring Detox Retreat

Everywhere we turn, there is a growing awareness of the issues of a toxic world and a desire to embrace a healthier lifestyle. There is a real yearning for clarity and purity, and it can be seen in our desire for clean homes and minimalist designs, as well as embracing mind-body disciplines like Yoga and Meditation. This brought us to offer a Detox Retreat with the purpose to demystify the myth of a Detox Program. 

From our perspective: Detox should not be confused for a weight-loss diet, although you can experience loss of excess weight. Detoxification is not something that can be done during a weekend or a 7-day program. Detoxification is an every day endeavor of our natural body-system through our skin, lungs, kidneys and liver.

The ultimate lifestyle 'detox' is removing unhealthy habits, exercising and enjoying a healthy diet that involves a variety of tastes: astringent, bitter, pungent, sour, salty and sweet. A 'clean' eating plan of whole, unprocessed foods and herbs can assist the natural process of detoxification. 

Our weekend involves providing the tools to support your day-to-day by immersing yourself in a positive environment, detox your mind, hydrate, resting and renewing your ability to maintain optimum health.

Yoga:

All activities in our program are included and the opportunity to attend all of the yoga and meditation sessions. The schedule is designed to include two yoga classes a day, apart from Friday which will only include one yoga class after your arrival. In this particular retreat, morning classes will be quite gentle to support the detoxing process. The evening classes are a restorative style to  prepare us for a good night sleep. We specialize on Traditional Hatha and Restorative styles.  Beginners to yoga will get an introduction to yoga postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques, while the more experienced will be guided in how to deepen their practice.

Workshops:

The workshops in this retreat are focused on Detoxing program which includes both body and mind.   We will provide the information of why detoxing is beneficial to: reduce cravings, reset taste buds, detox the lymphatic system, and make you feel inspired and excited about life and how to live more vibrantly. 

On Sunday we will have a special workshop with Kelly Phillips from "A Bountiful Life" that will provide more indepth understanding of the daily techniques we can integrate to support our detox process. Kelly graduated as a Naturopath and Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2004. She has also studied Theta Healing, BodyTalk and many other systems of health, giving her a broad understanding of, and perspective on, wellness. Since graduating, Kelly has run her own private wellness clinic, tutored for several years at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand. She is registered with the New Zealand Society of Naturopath

Walking trails:

We provide group transportation to enjoy time in nature in a guided group walks in the surrounding areas of Taranaki. Weather permitting our Saturday walk will be a forest area where the trail is gentle without much strain. These walks will have a duration along 90 minutes. Suggested things to bring are hiking shoes, togs, jandals, water bottle.

Accommodation:

We provide shared accommodation, with two or three guest per room. The maximum number for our groups are 10 guests.

Our modern luxury bedrooms are equipped with 100% cotton linen ant towels.

We also have an option for couples to accommodate in a king size bedroom.

 We invite our guests to unwind: take a walk, explore the property, read a book from our library, journal, connect with nature and wildlife, and relax in the hot tub.

Meals:

The carefully prepared meals at Sanctuary Hill have a special mention on our guide. Our chef crafts extraordinary menus that are rich in natural, whole foods and herbs and contain no artificial substances or common allergens.  Chef prepares all meals with seasonal, organic, locally available ingredients and with as much naturally grown ingredients from our own garden. Beautiful, delicious and so, so good for you—the food we serve is meticulously prepared to fuel both body and soul. All special dietary requirements are accommodated.

 

Price:

Shared Triple Bedroom: $595 each (this is for single travelers that share a triple occupancy room)

Private Bedroom: $950 each (this is a private room for single travelers)

Private Double Room: $1,190 for 2 guests (this is a private room for a couple or 2 friends traveling together)

We offer Extended Stay Packages if you wish to stay at Sanctuary Hill after/before your Retreat. Our packages can include accommodation, meals and access to our daily yoga schedule.

Please make your reservation as early as possible as spaces on our retreats are limited.  It is necessary for you to complete this form in order to proceed with your booking. After receipt of a completed booking form we will place a tentative booking for you for 5 days. Before submitting the form, please read our Terms and Conditions here. Payment of your deposit equates to agreeing to the booking conditions. Should you require further clarifications of any of the conditions, we encourage you to contact us.

Payment:
- To secure a reservation a NZ $150 deposit is required within 5 working days to secure your booking.

- The balance of the retreat cost must be paid in full 30 days before the retreat starts.

- When a booking is made within 30 days before the retreat, a reservation is secured upon receipt of the total retreat cost.
