What to expect

Yoga:

All activities in our program are included and the opportunity to attend all of the yoga and meditation sessions. The schedule is designed to include two yoga classes a day, apart from Friday which will only include one yoga class after your arrival. Morning classes are intended to be with more movement to start that day and warm up. The evening classes are a restorative style to  prepare us for a good night sleep. We specialize on Traditional Hatha and Restorative styles.  Beginners to yoga will get an introduction to yoga postures, breathing practices and relaxation techniques, while the more experienced will be guided in how to deepen their practice.

Workshops:

During this retreat we will practice Meditation with Mantras to offer a focal intention, making it a gateway into the present moment.

THE FOUR GIFTS

On Saturday we will have a deep dive into the unique understanding of our Emotions, how do we meet the tides of emotions that flood our system? We will explore the main emotions: Anger, Shame, Fear, Sadness, and Joy. If we were to have no emotions, we would have no resonance. But we have become so good at containing our Colours in order to avoid being messy and so by condition (not design) we have been very clever to pack it all up, put it in a box and up on a shelf.

It is time to unpack the box! It is time to make the choices and plant some seeds for the gifts of our emotions are portals and doorways for our soul's healing and progression.

SELF HEALING THROUGH SOUND

This workshop will be an exploration into sound frequency and vibration and how sound affects our brain, nervous system and state of wellbeing. With the right understanding, we can utilize sound for inner healing, trauma release, and leading a stress free life.

ART THERAPY

On Sunday we will have a Art Therapy Workshop. In this workshop we will be learning to use Art to discover how these sacred tools can be used for healing, calming the mind and as a meditation aid. We will experience first hand how nature and our inner nature fuse to reflect beauty.

Walking trails:

Sanctuary Hill is surrounded by the lush greenery of the Taranaki region. During this Retreat you can walk around the property to enjoy the views of Mt. Taranaki, listen to the birds of the region, walk through the orchard and visit the different areas around our property. If you are feeling more invited to rest back and enjoy the view, you can relax in our various outdoor areas to bask in nature.

Meals:

The carefully prepared meals at Sanctuary Hill have a special mention on our guide. Our chef crafts extraordinary menus that are rich in natural, whole foods and herbs and contain no artificial substances or common allergens. Chef prepares all meals with seasonal, organic, locally available ingredients and with as much naturally grown ingredients from our own garden. Beautiful, delicious and so, so good for you—the food we serve is meticulously prepared to fuel both body and soul. All special dietary requirements are accommodated.

Accommodation:

We provide shared accommodation, with two or three guest per room. The maximum number for our groups are 10 guests.

Our modern luxury bedrooms are equipped with 100% cotton linen and towels. We also have an option for couples to accommodate in a king size bedroom.

We invite our guests to unwind: take a walk, explore the property, read a book from our library, journal, connect with nature and wildlife, and relax in the hot tub.

What YOGA means to us

Yoga is at the heart of our retreats, and we offer the real deal. From the physical practice, the environment where you move, the food you eat, is all part of the philosophy of an integrative way of living. The goal of the physical practice is to challenge you physically but most importantly to quiet the mind. That’s what yoga is all about – calming the mind. And that’s what we teach on our yoga retreats. You will feel re-energized and restored both physically and mentally.
